N-Tick Network Approved

Get ready to operate over the NNNCo LoRaWAN network

The ‘N-Tick Network Approved Programme’ enables device manufacturers from around the world to get their devices reviewed and validated, ensuring that they can operate over NNNCo’s telco-grade enterprise LoRaWAN network anywhere in the world.
Devices that receive N-Tick approval can then be listed in NNNCo’s N-Showcase online catalogue.

The N-Tick Network Approved Programme undertakes documental review and validation of an application against criteria and guidelines set out by the LoRa Alliance. It does not include any physical testing of the technical or functional capabilities of the device. Therefore all moral, legal, technical, and operational obligations continue to reside with Vendors.

How N-Tick works

The N-Tick programme is designed to confirm device behaviour to fit within NNNCo’s network parameters, as well as LoRaWAN® parameters defined in the LoRaWAN standards. Click here for the latest info on LoRaWAN standards.

Upon receiving your device information, NNNCo will assess its compliance with the LoRaWAN standards, ensuring that it is compatible with NNNCo’s Network Server and that it meets the appropriate regional standards. All devices already LoRaWAN certified will benefit from a fast pass approval process for N-Tick.

*Operation manuals, electrical safety approvals, radio regulatory approval stamps, payload descriptions and LoRaWAN approvals are all valuable to the N-Tick validation process and allow a more streamlined transition through the approval programme.

**As part of the N-Tick process, we may ingest the payload data from devices into NNNCo’s N2N Data Layer platform. We request access to your payload structure so that we can natively ingest or alternatively use an API if you have one. N2N-DL can decode, decrypt and deliver data from any device or network and applies a common language to seamlessly integrate into any customer system or analytics and visualisation platform.

N Tick Stamp

An N-ticked device has earned a status of approval to run over the NNNCo network. This approval will be associated with the device throughout all documentation and sales collateral and customers will be encouraged to use approved devices over the NNNCo network for their use cases.

Benefits of N-Tick Approval

To Manufacturers

  • Access to NNNCo’s IoT LoRaWAN network.
  • Seamless access  to the market in Australia and selected countries, contact us to know more.
  • Access to NNNCo’s N2N-DL super fast and highly scalable data platform for the aggregation of data and users.
  • Increased exposure to customers via NNNCo sales and marketing channels by affixing NNNCo’s proprietary N-Tick Seal on devices that have been approved by NNNCo for use with or connection to its LoRaWAN network.

To Customers

  • Access to a wider range of devices.
  • Faster and easier IoT deployments.
  • Increased structure, robustness and security in the IoT market.

N2N-DL Data Platform Integration

N2N-DL is a super fast, highly scalable data platform for the aggregation of data and users. It takes any device or sensor with proprietary protocols through any network, normalises and harmonises that data, and then provides an API layer.

As such, it allows customers to select any device to operate over any network and deliver data to any platform over a simple REST API.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I get my device approved?

N-Tick – Network Approval ensures interoperability and compliance on the NNNCo LoRaWAN network. The scope of the N-Tick programme confirms that the end device meets the functional requirements of NNNCo network parameters, LoRaWAN parameters and local RCM compliance. It entitles your product to use the N-Tick Network Approved seal, and get listed on NNNCo’s online catalogue,  N-Showcase. It also increases product representation through NNNCo sales and marketing channels. We encourage you to advertise the N-Tick approval in all your documentation!

What kind of devices can be approved?

Any LoRaWAN device certified or designed to the LoRaWAN standard has the ability to be N-Ticked network approved by NNNCo.

How long does the approval process take?

The process is quite agile and will depend on the level of LoRaWAN certification and documentation provided in the N-Tick procedure. It also depends on the answers provided in the Get Started form

Does N-Tick Network Approval cost anything?

N-Tick – Network Approval is free for device manufacturers, customers or consumers submitting devices on behalf of device manufacturers.

What if my device does not pass the requirements?

If for any reason devices aren’t able to meet requirements for N-Tick Network Approval, NNNCo encourages device manufacturers to resubmit with changes and/or additional documentation. The N-Tick Approval process can be postponed during this time to ensure that the device receives fair treatment.

What do I need to provide?

To get N-Tick – Network Approved, we require that you complete the Get Started form. In addition, operation manuals, payload descriptions and any regulatory compliance that your device has undertaken will facilitate the process.

As part of the N-Tick process, we may ingest the payload data from devices into our N2N Data Layer platform. We request access to your payload structure so that we can natively ingest or alternatively use an API if you have one. N2N-DL can decode, decrypt and deliver data from any device or network and applies a common language to seamlessly integrate into any customer system or analytics and visualisation platform.

N-Tick Network Approval – Terms and Conditions

N-Tick Terms and Conditions

  1. Devices must successfully pass the N-Tick Network Approved process to carry the N-Tick Network Approved seal.
  2. By applying for N-Tick Network Approved status, the Vendor confirms that they have legal right over the device and are authorised to make the application.
  3. Only those devices that have successfully passed the N-Tick Network Approved stage can be advertised with the N-Tick seal.
  4. The N-Tick Network Approved status and seal do not infer any liability or obligation on NNNCo to support those devices in field. All moral, legal, technical and operational responsibilities including, but not limited to, all levels of technical and functional support for end-users, continue to reside with the vendor.
  5. Device manufacturers are required to adhere to the LoRaWAN protocol 1.0.2 or greater as compliance with this standard is mandatory for all device connectivity and connectivity schemes across NNNCo’s network, accordingly, devices must also adhere to their respective regional band plan schemes as mandated in LoRaWAN regional parameters 1.0.2 or greater.
  6. It is expected that post successful sale of the device to an end-user, the vendor will fulfil its requirements to fit with regional ISM regulations and carry warrant of fitness marks – FCC, ETSI, RCM respective to the localised deployment of devices and regional specifications.
  7. N-Tick Network Approved is based on interoperating with LoRaWAN standards as listed in Table 2: Network Approved Specifications. Any changes to the specifications listed in your application will void this approval and need the vendor to undergo a separate approval process.
  8. It is the Vendor’s responsibility to ensure that Technical or Product Specifications of all N-Tick Network Approved devices include the LoRaWAN device stack version and/or LoRaWAN protocol version, and make them easily accessible to end customers.
  9. It is incumbent on the vendor to ensure that the N-Tick Network Approved device behaves as per the strict operating regulations and guidelines stipulated by the local authorities. This, for example, includes but is not limited to US ISM or EU ISM regulations.
  10. The NNNCo Network Approval does not create any liability or obligation on NNNCo to ensure that the device operates as per local guidelines or as per the advertised specifications.
  11. Devices must comply with NNNCo’s standard network ecosystem and should not receive nor create interference or in any case; negative impacts for/upon other devices.
  12. NNNCo, unilaterally, reserves the right to revoke N-Tick Network Approved status at any time and to remove devices from the N-Showcase, when necessary. For example, if the device version sold in the local market does not match with the version that was N-Tick Network Approved; or if the performance of the device has any adverse impact on the network or other users on the network. In such situations, NNNCo will notify the Vendor of the breach and provide the opportunity to correct the issue and reinstate the approval and listing on the N-Showcase.
  13. Operation manuals, electrical safety certificates, radio regulatory approval stamps, payload descriptions and LoRaWAN certification are all valuable to the N-Tick process and allow a more streamlined transition through the N-Tick process and it is the obligation of the Vendor to make them accessible to NNNCo and end-users.
